Sidcraft units

Units are the pieces you drag from the left library onto the canvas. Select a unit to edit it in the right panel. That panel uses Content, Style, and Advanced. Pro units appear in the same library when Sidcraft Pro is active. Shop units appear only when WooCommerce is active.

Updated . Covers Sidcraft Page Builder 1.2.4 and Sidcraft Builder Pro 1.2.3.

Editor sketch with the unit library on the left, the page canvas in the center, and Content, Style, and Advanced tabs on the right.
Pick a unit on the left, drop it on the canvas, then change it on the right.

Add a unit

  1. Open the page with Edit with Sidcraft.
  2. In the left panel, search or filter by category and click or drag a unit.
  3. Drop it into a Container or a Grid, or onto the page.
  4. Use the right panel to change the text, image, link, or layout.
  5. Save, then publish or update the page in WordPress.

Right-click a unit in the library to add or remove it from Favorites. Container cannot be disabled in Units Manager. Other units can be hidden there.

Dragging from the Units panel works in every supported browser, including Firefox. From the keyboard, move focus to a unit card and press Enter or Space to add that unit. While the Sidcraft Pro license is inactive, Pro units keep a locked look in the library and show a hint about the license.

XEditor

The XEditor button in the top bar inserts atomic elements into the selected container, or you can drag them onto the canvas. Each element prints one HTML element on the live page, with no wrapper div. Aria-label, role, and custom attributes go on that element. Local style values use zero-specificity selectors, so a stacked class always wins.

Grid

A grid sketch with three columns. The bottom-left cell spans two columns. A side panel reads Placement, Column 1, Row 2, 2 by 1, and notes that dragging an edge resizes and neighboring columns share width.
Grid places children in rows and columns. A child can span more than one cell.

The Grid unit is a layout that holds other units. Its controls include columns, rows, grid template columns, grid template rows, column gap, row gap, auto flow, align, justify, minimum column and row sizes, auto columns and rows, outline, width, and dense auto-flow. The editor draws a placement grid so you can set column, row, and span. Dragging the left, right, top, or bottom edge resizes the unit, and neighboring columns share the width. A size tip shows while you drag. The Features setting “Grid container” is active by default and covers the same kind of layout on a Container.

Usage: add Grid from the layout category, then drop Heading, Image, or Button into the cells. Select a child to set where it sits.

Right-click menu

A white menu listing Edit Heading, Duplicate, Copy, Paste, Copy Style, Paste style, Reset style, Save as Template, and Delete.
Right-click a unit on the canvas for these actions. Shortcuts can be changed in the editor.

On a unit, the menu offers Edit, Duplicate, Copy, Paste, Copy Style, Paste style, and Reset style. Tabs, Accordion, and Toggle also offer Convert to nested. Container and Grid offer Add New Container and Save as Template. Any unit can be saved as a component. Structure opens the navigator. Delete removes the unit.

On empty canvas, the menu offers Paste, Paste All Content, Add New Container, Copy All Content, Delete All Content, and Structure. Copy and paste are kept in the browser so they work across pages and tabs.

TODO: The plugin source does not name a “pink tab.” The right-hand settings use the labels Content, Style, and Advanced. The left side is the unit library. If a pink tab appears in your copy of the editor, its purpose is not described in these files.

WordPress block: Sidcraft Template

This is the one WordPress block the plugin registers. Its name in the editor is Sidcraft Page Builder Template, in the Sidcraft category. It inserts a saved Sidcraft template. It still shows in the normal WordPress editor, where the rest of Sidcraft does not load.

SettingDefaultWhat it does
Template id0Which saved template to show. 0 means none is chosen.

The block can be wide or full width, and it supports an HTML anchor and a CSS class. Usage: in the WordPress block editor, add Sidcraft Template, then pick the saved template.

These are in the library when Pro is running. Each unit loads its own CSS and script only on pages that use it. Theme units use content. Payment Form and Payment Button use basic. Units added in Pro 0.9.0, 0.10.0, and 0.10.2 follow. Floating Bar, Instagram Embed, Twitter Embed, Dual Heading, and WPForms come next. Each button uses a Payment Button on the same page with this form key. Gateways are Stripe, PayPal, PayPal Commerce, Square, Authorize.Net, Razorpay, and Mollie. Card details stay in the browser. Loop Grid

Repeats a Loop Item template for every result of a query: posts, pages, custom post types, or terms. Sources include custom, current, related, and manual, with taxonomy, author, date, search, meta, include and exclude, offset, sticky, and order. Columns are responsive. Masonry, equal height, gaps, and a Nothing Found message are included. Pagination can be numbers, previous and next, both, load on click, or infinite scroll. Numbered pages can load in place, keep the page number in the address, and scroll with an offset. A Query ID lets developers change the query with the sidcraft-builder-pro/query/{id} filter. Usage: write the headline, add the button link, and choose Top or Bottom.

SCB widget set (Sidcraft Pro)

Sidcraft Pro 0.12.0 ported the SCB widget set to native Sidcraft units, and Pro 0.13.0 made every one of them work in the editor canvas. That behavior is the same in Pro 0.13.5. They do not need Elementor. All SCB units sit in the PRO group of the unit library. Their unit types and CSS classes start with scb- (for example scb-infobox and .scb-posts). Each unit has its own Content, Style, and responsive controls, previews live on the canvas, prints node CSS on the page, and loads its CSS and JavaScript only on pages that use it. From Pro 0.13.3, custom code that listened for scb_ hooks uses the sidcraft_ prefix instead, for example sidcraft_scb_js_localize.

Turn SCB units on or off, and enter the API keys some of them need, under Sidcraft → Settings → SCB Widgets. A turned-off unit is not loaded on the site or in the editor. Most units also end with a Helpful Information section in Content.
