Watching videos
Visitors use the Videos and Watch pages. Lite plays every video for free. Pro can ask for payment or a coupon before the full video starts. Trailers stay open either way.
Browse the library
The Videos page lists up to 24 videos per page. Use Search to match a title. Each card shows the thumbnail, title, category, view count, star rating, and either Free (Lite) or a dollar price (Pro).
The Watch page adds category buttons:
- Most Watched sorts by views. Visitors cannot reorder that list.
- All Films clears the category filter.
- Each category name is a button. Choosing one keeps that filter in the address bar as
vc_category.
Open a card to watch that video. The address uses vc_id for the video number. Page numbers use vc_pg.
The player
The full video plays in VidCellar’s player. Controls include play and pause, a progress bar, volume, the current time, playback speed from 0.75× to 2×, picture in picture, and fullscreen. The download control is turned off in the browser. If playback fails, refresh the page.
In Lite the full video is available immediately, with the note “Free video — watch now.” A trailer, when the site added one, appears above it and can be watched without any extra step.
Anyone can rate a Lite video from 1 to 5 stars. The average and the number of ratings update on the page. Each viewer has one rating per video.
Paying or using a coupon in Pro
On a video that is not yet unlocked, the page asks for an email address. That email is required for checkout and for a coupon. A signed-in WordPress user sees their account email filled in. A guest does not need to register.
- Enter the email address.
- To skip payment, enter a complimentary coupon and choose Redeem Coupon. Access lasts until that coupon expires. If it has already expired, the page says so and offers purchase.
- Or pay with the PayPal button, or with Watch Now when Stripe is configured. The button shows the video price.
- After a successful payment, guests can keep watching in that browser. A later visit can also use the access link sent by email. Signed-in buyers can return through My Purchases if the site published that page.
Paid access does not expire. Coupon access does. Advertisements, when the site has active ones, play at the start and again on the site’s interval. They cannot be skipped. The trailer never includes ads.
Ratings in Pro
The star control on a Pro watch page is shown after the viewer has access, either from a payment or from a valid coupon.
