Analytics

Open VidCellar → Analytics. The screen shows views, unique viewers, total and average watch time, average retention, completion rate, a 25 / 50 / 75 / 100 percent funnel, views per day, top videos, and a per-video curve of where viewers leave.

Watch time counts seconds that actually played. Seeking is excluded. The player reports session totals about every 15 seconds, on pause, at milestones, and with sendBeacon when the tab closes. Retries do not double-count. The server limits watch time to wall-clock time, checks a per-video signature, and rate-limits new sessions per IP. Bots are ignored. Administrators can be ignored too.

Unique viewers use a random first-party token hashed with a site secret. VidCellar does not fingerprint browsers and does not store IP addresses in analytics. Raw sessions are deleted after a period you set (default 395 days). Daily totals and retention curves are kept. Member viewing history is included in WordPress personal-data export and erase.

Pixels and webhooks

Optional events go to Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, and Meta Pixel: video start, progress at 25, 50, and 75 percent, complete, and lead capture. Email addresses are not sent to Google or Meta. Base tags can be added by VidCellar or left to Site Kit or a consent manager. The WP Consent API and Global Privacy Control are respected.

Under Analytics → Webhooks, add any number of endpoints for Zapier, Make, n8n, or a CRM. Each endpoint chooses its events and can require an HMAC-SHA256 signature. The JSON payload includes the video id, title, and URL, the viewer’s user id and email when they are a member or a captured lead, watch percentage, watched seconds, and a timestamp. Delivery is retried in the background. Use the test button and the delivery log.
