What visitors see

Activation creates two pages. Videos uses [vidcellar_browse]. Watch uses [vidcellar_video]. You can place those shortcodes on other pages.

Videos page

The heading is Videos. Visitors search with vc_q, and the catalog pages 24 videos at a time. Each card shows the thumbnail, title, category, view count, star rating, and the word Free. In Pro, the card shows the stored price in dollars instead of Free, and the introduction says a visitor can purchase as a guest without creating an account.

Watch page

Without vc_id in the address, the Watch shortcode shows the category browser. The heading is the title of the WordPress page that hosts the shortcode. Rename that page to change the heading. If no published page title can be found, Lite falls back to Cinema Showcase. Pro falls back to Videos.

A video address includes vc_id. The page shows category buttons, the title, the description, an optional trailer, and the full-video player. The trailer comes from the Media Library and plays above the protected full video. The player has play, volume, progress, settings, and fullscreen. Download is turned off on the video element.

Visitors can rate a video from 1 to 5 stars. The page shows the average, the rating count, and the view count.

Lite playback

Lite treats every video as free. The player shows Free video — watch now and streams the file from private storage.

Pro playback

A price of $0.00 is still free and does not open checkout. A price above zero asks for an email address. A signed-in visitor’s email is filled in. A guest does not need a WordPress account. After a paid or complimentary grant, playback uses that visitor’s access. Expired complimentary access tells the visitor to purchase. Signed-in visitors can see their purchases on a page that contains [vidcellar_purchases]. Guests are asked to sign in on that page; guest playback itself does not require an account.
